How can oil-immersed transformers reduce copper loss?
How can the copper loss of transformer be reduced in long - term operation? Shared by oil immersed transformer supplier.
1. Lower current density is selected; Reduce the number of turns, but will increase the magnetic flux density of the core and increase the iron loss, when the copper loss is significantly higher than the iron loss, use with caution;
2. The transformer process should be changed to reduce the ac resistance of the windings. The main methods include reducing the copper wire diameter (not reducing the total cross-sectional area), increasing the adjacent surface of the primary stage (increasing the distributed capacitance of the primary stage), reducing the distance of the primary stage (increasing the distributed capacitance of the primary stage), and reducing the coil sparsity. Change circuit operating parameters to reduce ac resistance, such as switching frequency, but will increase the magnetic flux density of the core and increase the iron loss, when the copper loss is significantly higher than the iron loss, use with caution; Use lower resistivity conductors. Reduce iron loss.
3. Switch to magnetic core material with better power consumption parameters, such as replacing PC40 material with PC50 material of TDK; Reduce the flux density, but will increase the number of coil turns and lead to copper loss increase, careful use; Change circuit parameters, such as reduce the switching frequency, but at the same time increase the flux density, careful use, if necessary with the winding turns adjustment; Reasonable thermal design, using the core material temperature and loss curve of the valley.
